Southland Youth Expo

Through conversations with people in the community, the Youthline volunteer group, and youth agencies working in the rangatahi space in Southland, it was identified that young people in Invercargill and Southland do not have the best understanding of what is available to them, or how to access it.   The idea behind the Southland Youth Expo is to bring as many youth social services, mental health organisations, interest groups and activities as possible to one location. The goal is for young people and their whānau to get a better understanding of the support, resources and activities that are available in our community.  We hope to create an open and inclusive event where young people of all identities, genders, and ethnicities feel safe and accepted.

We also plan to showcase young people with live music and performances as well as providing fun activities, free kai and heaps of prizes for our rangatahi.

The Southland Youth Expo Planning Team consists of several Youthline Volunteers and Michelle Reynolds- Project Coordinator at Southland Youth One Stop Shop
